New Favorite: OBAKKI

I had never heard of OBAKKI until this most recent New York Fashion Week. Founded by Creative Director, Treana Peake, in Vancouver BC, the label is described on the website as being :  ”a luxury fashion brand built on modern style. It speaks to a new generation of women who seek refined, effortlessly cool clothes that reflect one’s individuality and lifestyle.” (Read more on their website here)

OBAKKI’s 2012 Fall/Winter collection really hit it out of the park for me. Every piece is effortlessly elegant, and nonchalantly cool. The neutral palette is flawless and the garments look like they would be comfortable enough to sleep in.

In case you didn’t already know, Rodarte debuted a their very own shoe line this Tuesday at New York Fashion Week. Having seen the collaborations they’ve done in the past with hard hitters like Nicholas Kirkwood, and Christian Louboutin, we all knew these would be some serious swoon worthy pieces. I might have to max out a card or two to get my hands on a pair…especially these sand filled ones:

Okay, real quick, did anyone else HATE Marc’s Fall 2012 runway? I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth, but I actually mean them.

The runway itself was the best part of the show for me:

But I couldn’t get over those ridiculous hats (that were on EVERY model)…and pilgrim shoes…. and I don’t actually love a single piece of clothing.

The best part was the hair, which you couldn’t even see because someone wanted to revisit the ugliest trend from the 90′s:

Hey HAAAY!! Let me begin this month’s beauty call by apologizing for my complete disappearance. I’ll show you through pictures what happened to me:

School started. The camel is school, I am the child.

I work in a CPA office and it’s tax season. Gromit is work, I am once again the child.

The shittiest thing about being so busy working on garbage you hate is that when you finally have time to do the shit you actually like to do (like make jewelry for example) you’re too wiped out. Even doing laundry can be a daunting task at the end of a long day. Regardless of how busy your schedule can get, you still have to find a little time in there to TREAT YO SELF

This month’s BEAUTY CALL is a short one

item 1:

FRESH INC LIP TREATMENT

My favorite shade is the second one pictured; honey. I have never been a fan of tinted balms or lip treatments because they make me feel like I should just be wearing lipstick – like if I commit to wearing a color at all it may as well be bold. But this lip treatment in honey is the perfect warm nude shade to just enhance your natural lip color.

Aside from being available in the perfect shades, this lip treatment is a luxurious little treat for dried out lips that will leave your pout soft and extremely kissable. ;)

I just picked this up last week and I am in love. I’ve seen this brand pop up in my Wegman’s and I’ve been curious about it because who doesn’t love more natural products? If your skin is dried out and thirsty I suggest trying this out. It’s 95% natural, smells amazing, and leaves your skin feeling like a baby’s ass. I’m not kidding. AND it’s only $10. I’m ready to try all their products. You can get it on their website yestocarrots.com, I actually found mine at Walmart.

Last Item:

A BLACKHEAD EXTRACTOR

My new best friend/worst enemy. I am a picker. I am terrible. If I’m in a particularly obsessive mood I can see this tool being dangerous for me. I’ve behaved so far. Here’s how to use it. I got mine at Sephora for $18. Here’s one for $1.92.
