I love the dalmatian trend, but in small doses. I think that it’s a print best suited for smaller articles such as shoes, lingerie, and nails as apposed to an entire spotted dress. I’ve also been really curious about nail wraps as well, since they seem to be popping up everywhere.
Here’s what I think about nail wraps..
I find them interesting, and I like the concept, but as of right now they aren’t available in a lot of paterns that interest me. I don’t see the point in a solid color nail wrap either. What I do like is that applying them is easy and there is no dry time. I also think they last a while, which might be good for some of you more normal people who don’t obsessively compulsively do their nails. I just tried this one from Salley Henson and lasted about 4 days before I was sick of looking at it (plus I work with my hands a lot so the tips started fading off):

I saw these on Topshop and really liked the way they looked

Unique for Topshop Dalmatian Nail Wraps
But $15? I’ll pass…
Besides, I have black and white nail polish.

You’ll need: A base & top coat, white nail polish, black nail polish, and a glass of wine.
Start by painting your nails white and letting them dry for a little bit.

I always paint my thumbs last because I use them to clean up the edges when I paint all over my fingers..which I somehow STILL do.

With the black polish make a few bigger dots first. Take a lot of the polish off the brush before making them so they don’t get too blobby. Instead of just dabbing a dot on with the brush kind of set the tip of it on the nail and sort of push it a little to get a nice imperfection. It feels like they look really sloppy but you kind of want it like that-dalmatians ain’t perfect honey.

Then go back and make some smaller spots. The drier your brush gets the smaller you can make the dots. Comparing it to the nail wraps, they might have looked a little more authentic with a big difference between the small and large spots. I still think they came out pretty decent:

Finish off with a good top coat. I swear by Seche Vite because it dries very fast – perfect for someone like me who literally cannot sit still.

Neat, I saved $15
