This is an open love letter to Elizabeth Knight
Dear Elizabeth,
Your Jewelry is exquisite. I adore your heroine collection beyond words.
My personal favorite is this gorgeous green lion paw ring.
I am waiting with bated breath for this necklace to be available. Not only does it combine two of my favorite things (hearts and swords) but they function as the clasp. I got to see this piece in person at Capsule in NYC and I literally haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
You are amazing

Here I am with my family on Christmas eve pounding weird shots my brother was making.
Here is a photo of my table at the Punk Rock Flea Market in Philadelphia last month:
This was my first Punk Rock Flea Market ever, and I was really proud of how self-controlled I was about not spending all of my money (there was an incredible amount of records and vintage clothing) I walked out with one thing:

I was preparing for this event and dealing with a hectic game of catch up in school while simultaneously preparing for finals. So I’m a bit behind the eight ball on S/S2013
Look at this mess. This was after 10 minutes of cleaning it, too. It took a while, but I finally got it under control (3 something hours later)
The Spring/Summer collection has a lot of crystals, and blues and whites. A loooot of white for some reason. I guess I am having a love affair with rainbow moonstone right now
And a lot of these crystal points. I basically have two weeks to get this collection together because I’m leaving for Jamaica on the 12th where I’ll be shooting the lookbook.
I’ve been slowly adding all the leftover items from the Flea Market to our shop

I’ve been trying to find some new photography/editing apps for the iphone
My two current favourites are mirrocamfx and wowfx, which I used for the photos above. Which other ones do I need?
My class was cancelled last night!!! So I got to spend the night working in my studio

In an attempt to revive my neglected blog I’m creating a new segment called “Around the Studio” where I give you little tidbits of what goes on in the workroom of Las Charolastras (…which is actually my bedroom with a huge workbench in it. One day I dream of having an actual real life studio)
Around the Studio 11/12/12
Kicked my lil work sesh off with this solid album
I’m gearing up for the Punk Rock Flea Market in Philadelphia which is happening in early December. My first collection had all these colorful stone skull and cross components mixed with spikes. I have a ton of left over supplies which I am forcing myself to use up as I’m trying to become a bit more legit and getting in the practice of making multiples of things. One fine day I’ll have actual S/S- A/W collections like everyone else, learn metalsmithing, have a god damn line sheet, and I’ll be attending trade shows like a big girl.
I mean, how am I expected to get anything done with this nesting in my bed directly behind me?
For the upcoming collection I’m having a full-blown love affair with titanium quartz, garnet, moonstone, lapis, citrine, and labradorite.
As usual, Chaton couldn’t give a shit…
Here’s a piece in progress for my next collection. Brilliant blue titanium quartz sticks with dual chains – one double linked palladium, and one delicate and sparkly handmade labradorite chain. The drops are hand done using glass silver coated beads.
Here it is finished, being modeled by Durer
This week I’ve been going through crates of my old records trying to lighten my load before my Boof and I relocate to Charleston. I found this GEM in my collection; Sayonara by Club Nisei Orchestra on UNBREAKABLE vinyl. This thing is like, an inch thick, and tiny as you can see by my hand holding the cover.
Girl time
Here I am at work the next morning taking the new toy for a test drive to determine if it’s really done or not. It is. Sorry this picture seriously sucks, I don’t know how so many girls are so good at photographing themselves on instagram (where you should probably follow me @lascharolastras) Maybe if I were better at it I’d have more followers because that seems to be the way it works. That necklace is somehow way better looking in real life too.
