I’m obviously no professional photographer, but I am practicing (when I can actually find the time these days..) and I am really passionate about shooting my look books
They are immense amounts of fun, but a lot of people don’t realize the tremendous amount of work that actually goes into them! Hair, Makeup, Styling, Shooting, Modeling, Editing… but when they all come together and your model is killing it and you see that two second preview of your money shot on your lcd monitor..your heart literally skips a beat and it’s fucking magic.
I’ve been really lucky to work with some fantastic models up to this point, and it really makes all the difference in the world. Not trying to toot my own horn here, but I’d like to think I have a good eye for spotting the true magicians amongst the pretty girls. Some girls just have that X-factor. One of my new favorite gems is Zoe Cross
I first spotted her when I was buying that top ^ from Spell Designs who provided the link to this full shoot on Aloha Bikini Lover

Russian fashion designer/style icon Ulyana Sergeenko is straight up eye candy for me.
She’s basically a fairy tale princess in my eyes.
I like my couture with a side of whimsy. I enjoy when fashion merges with photography and becomes a story book of a land far away filled with brave and romantic characters that I can get lost in. So when I saw Ulyana’s Spring 2013 couture collection I literally gasped. I don’t know if I’ve ever loved a series of photographs so much.
I love every aspect of these photos so much it hurts my damn heart. If I could paint, I would paint every one.
I will definitely be trying that cat-eye with a pop of light blue under liner. Sheer perfection.

It’s so fucking annoying that tomorrow is the first day of spring and there’s like, 5 inches of snow on the ground >:(
Good thing I prematurely packed away all my heavy sweaters and pulled my Spring out..
Also it’s currently 36 degrees in Martinsville, NJ where I am and 64 degrees in Charleston, SC where I’d much rather be, and where we’re moving to this summer (can you guess why)

I love how simple and elegant the twisted updo is. And I love the juxtaposition of topping off a messy twist like that with a sparkling piece of jewelry. And if you’re like me and have a bunch of vintage brooches collecting dust in her jewelry box, this is a great way to get them to see the light of day again.
